Magic Millions HIT Day-1: $360k Bel Esprit Colt

Thursday, 29th October 2009

Victorian trainer Peter Morgan paid top price of $360,000 for a colt by Gr1-winning Eliza Park stallion Bel Esprit (the 7th foal out of winning 17-year-old Bellotto mare Bellain) during last night’s opening session at the 2-day Magic Millions National Horses-In-Training Sale on the Queensland Gold Coast. The colt was consigned by Washpool Lodge & Morgan commented: “He's a very nice colt. If you believe what they are telling me, he's a cheap horse. He's good-legged for a Bel Esprit & he breezed-up nicely. He looks a great prospect. I will get him home & give him a little break, but then get him into the stables & we might set him for the $2 million Magic Millions Classic.”
