UK Tatts HIT Day-3: $570k Putney Bridge

Thursday, 29th October 2009

In the UK overnight, agent John McCormack (acting for Saudi Arabia’s Prince Faisal bin Khalid) out-bid both fellow agent Anthony Stroud & trainer Howard Johnson to pay top price of 300,000 guineas (A$570,000) for French Gr1-placed 4YO gelding Putney Bridge (Mizzen Mast-Valentine Band, by Dixieland Band) during the 3rd session at the 4-day UK Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale in Newmarket. Putney Bridge (offered with a Timeform rating of 115, having been placed multiple times at Group & Listed level including runner-up in France’s Gr1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud) was consigned by Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms & McCormack told racingpost.com: “He vetted well & his form is there for all to see. I'd think he ship out fairly soon as he's already gelded & the Saudi season is now underway.”
