Magic Millions HIT Day-2: $110k Hidden Dragon Colt

Friday, 30th October 2009

In the Australian sale ring, Singapore-based expatriate trainer Don Baertschiger paid top price of $110,000 for a 2YO colt by Lyndhurst Stud stallion Hidden Dragon (out of 11-time-winning 23-year-old Black Zephyr mare Donnatelle) during yesterday’s closing session at the 2-day Magic Millions National Horses-In-Training Sale on the Queensland Gold Coast. The colt (consigned by Centaur Park Thoroughbreds as agent) is a half-brother to Gr3-winner Don't Tell Clang & clocked 10.73sec for 200m during the pre-sale breeze-up session at the Gold Coast on Monday. Baertschiger commented: “He's a really nice colt. He impressed me in his breeze-up, he had a lovely action. He should really be suited to our style of racing in Singapore.”
