UK Stars Alandi & Mourayan Sold To Race In Aust
Top Irish trainer John Oxx “whose horse-of-a-lifetime Sea The Stars arrived at the Aga Khan’s Gilltown Stud in Ireland overnight to begin his new career as a stallion, will have to do without his flag-bearer for 2010 after it was revealed multiple Gr1-winner Alandi has been sold to race in Australia,” reported racingpost.com. Alandi & stable-mate Mourayan have been sold by their owner the Aga Khan “to an undisclosed buyer with the primary aim of winning next year's 150th running of the Melbourne Cup.” Bloodstock agent Hubie de Burgh who brokered the deal “was unable to divulge the name of the new owner” but did confirm: “ Alandi & Mourayan have been sold to a highly successful racehorse owner in Australia & they will both be trained in Melbourne with the main aim to try & win the 2010 Melbourne Cup.”
