Clueless Angel Wins Burgess Queen Stakes

Monday, 2nd November 2009

Western Australia's Mungrup Stud-based 8YO 2nd-crop sire Oratorio (Stravinsky-Express A Smile, by Success Express) added a 2nd black-type success (plus the runner-up) when favoured daughter Clueless Angel (Oratorio-Petite Angel, by Marooned) scored a half-length victory in the $75,000 Listed Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m) for 3YO fillies at Ascot. Clueless Angel (ridden by Paul Harvey for trainer Lindsey Smith) defeated Dawinner (Oratorio-Dawin, by Dehere) & Avante (Hurricane Sky-Chantruse, by Salieri). Clueless Angel (a $130,000 yearling consigned by Mungrup Stud at 2008 Magic Millions Perth Premier Sale) now has 5 wins & 3 placings from 8 starts for $142,230 earnings. Meanwhile a colt half-brother to Clueless Angel (by exciting young Scenic stallion Due Sasso) is set to go under the hammer at January's Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, offered by Mungrup Stud.
