Eagle Falls Wins Salinger Stakes

Monday, 2nd November 2009

Arrowfield Stud stallion Hussonet (Mr Prospector-Sacahuista, by Raja Baba) added a group success when 4YO gelding Eagle Falls (Hussonet-Desina, by Desert King) scored a 0.75-length victory in the $300,000 Gr2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. Eagle Falls (ridden by Damien Oliver for trainer David Hayes) defeated top-weighted 5YO entire Turffontein (Johannesburg-Spirit Of Grace, by Dr Grace) & 6YO mare Absolutelyfabulous (Langfuhr-Joker's Girl, by Rory's Jester). Eagle Falls (a $170,000 yearling consigned by Corumbene Stud at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast) now has 6 wins & a runner-up (in February's Gr2 Alister Clark Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley) from 11 starts for $407,183 earnings.
