Typhoon Tracy Wins Gr1 Myer Classic

Monday, 2nd November 2009

Vinery Stud shuttler & now permanently Australian-based Red Ransom (Roberto-Arabia, by Damascus) added a Gr1 triumph when favoured 4YO mare Typhoon Tracy (Red Ransom-Tracy's Element, by Last Tycoon) notched her 2nd successive stakes-win in a fortnight as she blitzed her rivals by 4.75-lengths in the $500,000 weight-for-age Gr1 Myer Classic (1600m) for fillies & mares at Flemington. Typhoon Tracy (ridden by Luke Nolen for trainer Peter Moody) defeated 5YO mares Lady Lynette (Ladoni-Queen's Own, by Coronation Day) & Zarita (Pentire-Gin Player, by Defensive Play). Typhoon Tracy took her record to 7 wins (also including last start's Gr2 Tristarc Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield on October 17, plus both March's Gr1 Coolmore Classic over 1500m at Rosehill & Gr3 Schweppervescence Trophy over 1400m at Flemington, as well as January's Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield) & 2 placings (in September's Gr2 Makybe Diva Stakes over 1600m at Flemington & August's Gr2 Liston Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield) from 10 starts for $1,184,200 earnings.
