UK Jockey Holland Arrested In Cyprus

Monday, 2nd November 2009

In Cyprus, leading British jockey Darryl Holland has been arrested "following an incident involving counterfeit notes & is likely to appear in court on Thursday," reported racingpost.com. His father-in-law & manager Peter Merchant confirmed: "We are all in complete shock over what has happened to Darryll. Jacqueline (his wife) is in Barbados on a business trip & has been crying her eyes out. At the moment all we can do is await an update from his lawyers to find out what is happening." Holland, 37, was arrested with another man John Tabor in the coastal town of Kyrenia & "pleaded not guilty when initially questioned".
