Wednesday, 4th November 2009

In New Zealand yesterday, former Trelawney Stud shuttler Van Nistelrooy (Storm Cat-Halory, by Halo) added a group success when 5YO mare Boundless (Van Nistelrooy-Nothing Less, by Star Way) scored a 0.75-length victory in the NZ$70,000 weight-for-age Gr3 Nicolas Feuillatte Stakes (2000m) at Ellerslie in Auckland. Boundless (ridden by James McDonald for trainer Stephen McKee) defeated 6YO geldings Sand Hawk (Sandtrap-Majestic Hunter, by Jade Hunter) & favourite Ginga Dude (Istidaad-Clatitude, by Clay Hero). Boundless (a NZ$80,000 yearling at the 2006 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka) took her record to 6 wins (also including 2008's Gr1 NZ Oaks over 2400m at Trentham) & 3 placings (including 2008's Gr1 AJC Australian Oaks over 2400m at Randwick & 2007's Listed Soliloquy Stakes over 1400m at Ellerslie) from 24 starts for NZ$543,022 earnings.
