Friday, 6th November 2009

NZ Cambridge Stud stallion Keeper (Danehill-Nuwirah, by Pleasant Colony) added a group success when 5YO gelding Keepin' the Dream (Keeper-Irish Nassie, by Nassipour) gained the judge’s decision in a 3-way photo-finish to yesterday’s $130,000 Gr3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup (1600m) in NSW. Keepin' The Dream (ridden by Chris Munce for trainers Jim & Greg Lee) scored by a half-neck from equal top-weighted 7YO gelding Spinney (Octagonal-Ochiltree, by Twig Moss) with a further neck to equal top-weighted 5YO mare Bernicia (Elusive Quality-Danelagh, by Danehill). Keepin' The Dream took his record to 3 wins (also including March’s Listed Sky High Stakes over 1900m at Rosehill) & 5 placings (including 2008’s Listed Wyong Gold Cup over 2100m at Wyong) from 27 starts for $190,030 earnings.
