Dual Gr1-winning Darley stallion & former Australian champion 1st-crop sire Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO mare Very Discreet (Exceed And Excel-She's Discreet, by Euclase) made it 3 successive stakes-wins with a half-length victory in yesterday’s $150,000 Listed Crown Promenade Stakes (1100m) for mares 4YO & up at Flemington. Very Discreet (ridden by Dwayne Dunn for trainer Richard Jolly) defeated fellow 4YO mares Seeking Attention (Exceed And Excel-Laetitia, by Woodman) & Serenissima (Lonhro-Santissima, by Quest For Fame). Very Discreet took her record to 5 wins (also including last start's Listed Durbridge Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville on October 17 & September’s Listed Wylie Handicap over 1100m at Morphettville) & 2 placings (including March's Gr2 Yallambee Classic over 1200m at Morphettville & 2008's Listed Dequetteville Stakes over 1100m at Morphettville) from 8 starts for $271,350 earnings.
