Monday, 9th November 2009

Also in South Africa, former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a black-type success when unbeaten Australian-bred daughter Sidera (Galileo-Freja, by Danehill) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the R135,000 (A$20,500) Listed Starling Stakes (1400m) for 3YO fillies at Turffontein. Sidera (ridden by Anthony Delpech for trainer Mike De Kock) defeated Jet Trail (Jet Master-Azabu Park, by Bletchley Park) & Valley Of Rubies (Mogok-Shuttle Secret, by Secret Prospector). Sidera (a $45,000 yearling consigned from Think Big Stud at the 2008 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) previously scored by 7.5-lengths on debut at Clairwood in October & now boasts 2 wins from 2 starts.
