Monashee Mountain Adds UK Black-Type

Monday, 9th November 2009

In the UK, Queensland's Racetree-based former shuttle stallion Monashee Mountain (Danzig-Prospectors Delite, by Mr Prospector) added a black-type success when Irish-bred 7YO gelding Fullandby (Monashee Mountain-Ivory Turner, by Efisio) scored by a head in the £50,000 (A$90,000) Listed Wentworth Stakes (6 furlongs) at Doncaster. Fullandby (ridden by Alan Munro for trainer Tim Etherington) defeated 5YO gelding Arthur’s Edge (Diktat-Bright Edge, by Danehill Dancer) & 3YO filly Lovely Thought (Dubai Destination-Fairy Flight, by Fairy King). Fullandby was originally a €4,000 (A$6,400) weanling at Ireland’s 2005 Goffs November Sale & later a €6,000 (A$9,600) yearling at the 2003 Tattersalls Ireland Sale. Overall Fullandby now has 10 wins & 16 placings (including 2008’s UK Listed Beverley Bullet Stakes over 5 furlongs) from 59 starts for £237,664 (A$428,000) earnings.
