Voila Ici Wins Italian Gr1 Premio Roma

In Italy overnight, favoured 4YO entire Voila Ici (Daylami-Far Hope, by Barathea) scored a half-length victory in the €243,000 (A$389,000) Gr1 Premio Roma (2000m) at the Capannelle in Rome. Voila Ici (ridden by Mirco Demuro for trainer Vittorio Caruso) defeated UK-bred 3YO colt Turati (Lomitas-Torrigiana, by Celtic Swing) & fellow 4YO entire Sant’Antonio (Shantou-Nonna Rina, by Bluebird). Voila Ici was a €60,000 (A$96,000) yearling at the SGA Sale. Previously this season, he has also won September’s Gr3 Premio Federico Tesio (2200m) at San Siro, July’s French Gr2 Prix Maurice De Nieuil (2800m) at Longchamp & May’s Gr3 Premio Carlo D’Alessio (2400m) at the Capannelle, plus placing in both October’s Gr1 Gran Premio Del Jockey Club (2400m) at San Siro & June’s Gr1 Gran Premio Di Milano (2400m) at San Siro. And during 2008 Voila Ici won Italy’s Gr3 Premio Federico Tesio (2200m) at San Siro & finished runner-up in the Gr1 Gran Premio Di Milano (2400m) at San Siro.
