US Sire Nobiz Like Shobiz Fee Cut 67% At Darby Dan

Wednesday, 11th November 2009

The 2010 service fee for US Gr1-winning 5YO sire Nobiz Like Shobiz (Albert The Great-Nightstorm, by Storm Cat) has been cut 67% from US$7,500 to US$2,500 at Darby Dan in Kentucky. The stallion’s owner Elizabeth Valando explained: “The decision was made after talking with many breeders. The stallion market has been hit hardest at US$10,000 & under, so I wanted to be extremely sensitive to their needs. I feel like at US$2,500 Nobiz Like Shobiz offers breeders a real value, while also giving him the best chance to succeed at stud.” On the track, Nobiz Like Showbiz won 6 graded-stakes (3 on dirt & 3 on turf) including victories in 2007's US Gr1 Wood Memorial Stakes (9 furlongs) at Aqueduct, Gr2 Jamaica Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) at Belmont Park, Gr2 National Museum Of Racing Hall Of Fame Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) at Saratoga, Gr3 Kent Breeder's Cup Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) at Delaware Park & Gr3 Holy Bull Stakes (8 furlongs) at Gulfstream Park, plus 2006's Gr2 Remsen Stakes (9 furlongs) at Aqueduct, as well as placings in the 2007's Gr2 Dwyer Stakes (8.5 furlongs) at Belmont, Gr2 Fountain Of Youth Stakes (8.5 furlongs) at Gulfstream Park & 2006's Gr1 Champagne Stakes (8 furlongs) at Belmont Park for US$1,544,730 earnings.
