5 Aust-Bred Winners In Hong Kong

In Hong Kong last night, 5 Australian-bred gallopers scored at Happy Valley (click on the horse name to watch a video replay of each race):

  • 6YO gelding Danabaa (Anabaa-Highland Legend, by Storm Bird) won over 1200m for trainer Ricky Yiu. Danabaa was passed-in for $150,000 as a yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
  • 3YO gelding Healthy Blueberry (Danewin-Barawin, by Barathea) won over 1650m for trainer Peter Ho. Healthy Blueberry was a passed-in as a yearling for $150,000 at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
  • 4YO gelding Jumbo Gold (Flying Spur-Spring Beauty, by Bletchingly) won over 1200m for trainer Caspar Fownes. Jumbo Gold was a $47,500 yearling at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast & subsequently a NZ$280,000 2YO at the 2007 NZB Horses-In-Training Sale.
  • 5YO gelding Good Strike (Magic Albert-Cupro, by Naturalism) won over 1200m for trainer Almond Lee.
  • 6YO entire Ambitious General (General Nediym-Lake Lagoda, by Military Plume) won over 1800m for Australian trainer David Hall. Ambitious General was a $65,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
