Coup Align Wins NZ Lindauer Stewards Stakes

Thursday, 12th November 2009

Also in NZ yesterday, Highview Stud's Australian-bred stallion Align (Night Shift-Super Trend, by Red Anchor) added a black-type success when front-running 4YO gelding Coup Align (Align-Diamond Snip, by Snippets) notched his 2nd stakes win in 5 days with a 1.5-lengths victory in the NZ$100,00 Gr3 Lindauer Stewards Stakes (1200m) at Riccarton Park. Coup Align (ridden by Lisa Allpress for trainer Michael Pitman) defeated 6YO gelding Faalcon (Faltaat-Elle Taine, by Centaine) & 5YO mare Turf Fire (O'Reilly-Threestrikes Out, by Straight Strike). Coup Align (a NZ$30,000 yearling at the 2007 NZB Select Sale) now has 8 wins (also including last Saturday’s Listed Pegasus Stakes over 1000m at Riccarton Park & January’s Listed Gore Guineas over 1355m) from 12 starts for NZ$174,375 earnings.
