Keeneland Nov Day-2: US$2.3m Cotton Blossom

Friday, 13th November 2009

Florida pin-hooker Dean de Renzo (representing Betty Moran’s Pennsylvania-based Brushwood Farm) paid US$2.3 million for Gr1-winning 5YO mare Cotton Blossom (Broken Vow-For Dixie, by Dixieland Band) also consigned by Eaton Sales as part of the dispersal from Overbrook Farm (who paid US$1.9 million for her at this sale in 2007) & sold in-foal to former Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry. De Renzo told bloodhorse.com: “She’s the biggest, most beautiful mare, I think, to go into the ring for this sale. She was a fantastic racehorse & she’s a fantastic-looking mare, so she should have great babies.”
