Giant's Causeway Adds Japan Black-Type

Monday, 16th November 2009

Also in Japan, former Coolmore shuttler Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat-Mariah's Storm, by Rahy) added a juvenile black-type success when his colt Eishin Apollon (Giant's Causeway-Silk And Scarlet, by Sadler's Wells) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the ¥72.85 million (A$927,000) Listed Keio Hai Nisai Stakes (1400m) for 2YOs at Tokyo. Eishin Apollon (ridden by Kenichi Ikezoe for trainer Inao Okada) defeated the filly Animate Bio (Zenno Rob Roy-Regenbogen, by French Deputy) & fellow colt Tsurumaru Jupiter (Manhattan Cafe-Omaita, by Miswaki). Eishin Apollon took his record to 2 wins & a runner-up (in October’s Listed Daily Hai Nisai Stakes over 1600m at Kyoto) from 5 starts.
