Keeneland Nov Day-3: US$875k Lasting Appeal

Monday, 16th November 2009

In the US auction ring, Elliott Walden (vice-president & racing manager at Bill Casner & Kenny Troutt’s WinStar Farm) paid top price of US$875,000 for winning 6YO mare Lasting Appeal (A.P.Indy-Steady Cat, by Storm Cat) on Day-3 at the 13-day Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale in Kentucky. Lasting Appeal (whose dam Steady Cat is a 5-time-winner & Gr2-placed) was consigned by Eaton Sales as agent for the Youngs family’s Overbrook Farm dispersal & sold in-foal to Adena Springs stallion Awesome Again. Lasting Appeal is a full-sister to Gr1-sire Jump Start & from the family of stakes-winning sire Miswaki. WinStar president Doug Cauthen confirmed Lasting Appeal will be bred to WinStar stallion & former Grand Lodge Thoroughbreds shuttler Distorted Humor, who “has done really, really well with A.P.Indy mares.”
