Lucky Secret Wins Kevin Heffernan Stakes

Deceased Blue Gum Farm stallion Rubiton (Century-Ruby, by Seventh Hussar) added a black-type success when favoured 6YO gelding Lucky Secret (Rubiton-Won't Tell, by Rory's Jester) scored a 0.75-length victory in the $100,000 weight-for-age Listed Kevin Heffernan Stakes (1300m) at Sandown. Lucky Secret (ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainer Tony Vasil) defeated Posadas (Commands-Navidad, by Christmas Tree) & Diplomatic Force (Oamaru Force-Talk It Over, by Umatilla). Lucky Secret (a $220,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 14 wins (also including October’s Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m in track-record time at Caulfield, September's Listed Starlight Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill & January's Gr2 Carlyon Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley, plus 2008's Gr2 Schweppes Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley & 2007's Listed Sir John Monash Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield) & 4 placings (including February's Gr1 Oakleigh Plate over 1100m at Caulfield & January's Gr3 Rubiton Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield, plus 2008's Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield & Gr3 McEwen Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley) from 23 starts for $955,150 earnings.
