Monday, 16th November 2009

In Hong Kong yesterday, former Coolmore shuttler Peintre Celebre (Nureyev-Peinture Bleue, by Alydar) added a group success when 4YO gelding Collection (Peintre Celebre-Lasting Chance, by American Chance) scored a 2-lengths victory in the HK$3 million (A$455,000) Gr2 Cathay Pacific International Cup Trial (2000m) at Sha Tin. Collection (ridden by Weichong Marwing for expatriate Australian trainer John Moore) defeated 4YO gelding Unique Jewellery (O'Reilly-Aulide, by Snippets) & 4YO entire Mr Medici (Medicean-Way Of Life, by Platini). Collection previously won 2009’s Gr1 Hong Kong Derby (2000m) in March & finished 3rd in the Gr1 Citi Champions & Chater Cup (2400m) in June; & in 2008 he also won the UK Listed Hampton Court Stakes (10 furlongs) at Royal Ascot.
