Monday, 16th November 2009

Former Woodlands & now Darley Stud's 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler & Australian Racehorse-Of-The-Year Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a juvenile black-type success when debutant colt Secession (Lonhro-Walnut, by Procol Harum) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Triple M Stakes (1000m) for 2YOs at Sandown. Secession (ridden by Kerrin McEvoy for trainer Peter Snowden) defeated the fillies Shaaheq (Redoute’s Choice-Damaschino, by Last Tycoon) & fellow debutante Sublime Girl (Encosta de Lago-Running Smooth, by Marscay). Secession earned $60,000 for his initial win. (Click on the link for full race details from Group Race Results at AAP Racing.)
