Kalath Wells Wins Gr1 Argentine Oaks

Tuesday, 17th November 2009

Also in Buenos Aires, front-running female Kalath Wells (Poliglote-Kalath, by Kaljerry) led all-the-way to score a decisive 4-lengths victory in Argentina's Gr1 Gran Premio Seleccion-Argentine Oaks (2000m) for 3YO fillies at Hipodromo Palermo. Pharmaceutical magnate Juan Carlos Bago's Haras Firmamento home-bred Kalath Wells (ridden by Edwin Talaverano for trainer Miguel Garcia) notched her 4th successive win in defeating US-bred Dear Bela (Indygo Shiner-Dear Peggy, by Southern Halo) & La Charmante (Indygo Shiner-La Magie, by Luhuk). Previously this season, Kalath Wells also won August’s Argentine Gr1 Clasico Seleccion De Potrancas (2000m) at Hipodromo La Plata & October’s G2 Clasico Francisco Beazley (1800m) by 11-lengths at Palermo. Overall she now has 4 wins & a placing from 9 starts.
