US Sires Alaazo & Malt Magic To Stud At Woodstead

Zayat Stables announced 2 of its stallions Alaazo (A.P.Indy-Atelier, by Deputy Minister) & Malt Magic (Cherokee Run-La Cucina, by Last Tycoon) will retire from racing & enter stud in 2010 at Woodstead Farm in Washington, reported bloodhorse.com.

  • Stakes-placed 4YO Alaazo (a US$350,000 Keeneland September yearling) Alaazo finished 1st or 2nd in 5 of 13 starts (including runner-up in both this year’s Gr3 Turfway Park Fall Championship Stakes & Listed Greenwood Cup Stakes, plus 4th in the 2008 Gr1 Haskell Invitational Stakes). His dam Atelier was a Gr2-winner & his 3rd third dam is Kentucky Broodmare-Of-The-Year Courtly Dee (dam of champion Althea).
  • 5YO Malt Magic (a US$320,000 Keeneland September yearling) won or placed in 7 of 11 starts. He is a full-brother to Gr2-winner Sir Cherokee & a half-brother to Gr2-winner Miss Isella.
