Thursday, 19th November 2009

In Europe, Ramonti & Celtic Swing (who both stood at stud in Ireland last year) “are new additions to the ranks of Italian stallions for 2010” reported racingpost.com. “They will join Tillerman (who will also stand his 1st season in Italy next year) as well as Mujahid, Denon & Distant Way on the roster at the Societa Allevamento Besnate in Varese.”

  • 5-time Gr1-winning 7YO stallion Ramonti (Martino Alonso-Fosca, by El Gran Senor) commenced stud duties at Darley's Kildangan Stud in County Kildare this year at a fee of €5,000 (A$8,000) & covered 112 mares. He will command the same fee in Italy next year.
  • Gr1-winner Celtic Swing (Damister-Celtic Ring, by Welsh Pageant) is the sire of Australian star Takeover Target. He stood at the Irish National Stud since 2001 & was available for €4,000 (A$6,400) this year, but has had his fee upgraded to €5,500 (A$8,800) for his initial Italian season.
