Friday, 20th November 2009

In the US, former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a black-type success when front-running daughter West Ocean (Elusive Quality-Ocean Drive, by Belong To Me) scored by a neck in the US$69,400 Listed Flitalong Stakes (8.5 furlongs on turf) for 3YO fillies at Aqueduct in New York. West Ocean (ridden by John Velazquez for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated favourite Denomination (Smart Strike-Dreamlike, by Storm Cat) & Akilina (Langfuhr-Fahamore, by Gulch). West Ocean (a US$400,000 yearling at the 2007 Keeneland September Sale) took her record to 3 wins & a runner-up from 4 starts for US$108,640 earnings.
