Goffs Weanlings Day-3: $122k Cape Cross Filly

Friday, 20th November 2009

In Ireland overnight, David Redvers (representing Rathmore stud) paid top price of €76,000 (A$122,000) for a filly by former Darley shuttler Cape Cross (out of Desert King mare Lia) during the 3rd session at the 4-day Goffs November Foal Sale. The filly was consigned from the Irish National stud as agent & her half-sister Lake Palace finished runner-up in a Listed race in France overnight (see report later in today’s Daily News). Redvers told racingpost.com: “We were chuffed to bits to get her. She's a really lovely filly & a rare bit of value today. The last Cape Cross filly we bought was Rising Cross, who went on to finish 2nd in the Oaks. She could be for resale back here, although that has yet to be decided.”
