Monday, 23rd November 2009

In Hong Kong yesterday, Gr1 Golden Slipper-winning Arrowfield Stud sire Danzero (Danehill-Confidentially, by Kaoru Star) added a group success when Australian-bred 5YO gelding Happy Zero (Danzero-Have Love, by Canny Lad) scored a 2-lengths victory in the HK$3 million (A$450,000) Gr2 Cathay Pacific International Sprint Trial (1200m) at Sha Tin. Happy Zero (ridden by Australian jockey Darren Beadman for Australian trainer John Moore) defeated Australian-bred 6YO gelding Sacred Kingdom (Encosta de Lago-Courtroom Sweetie, by Zeditave) & fellow 6YO gelding Joy And Fun (Cullen-Gin Player, by Defensive Play). At his previous start, Happy Zero (a $425,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) also won October’s Gr3 Sha Tin Sprint Trophy Handicap (1000m) & overall now has 7 wins from 8 starts.
