Boundless Wins NZ Counties Cup

In New Zealand, former Trelawney Stud shuttler Van Nistelrooy (Storm Cat-Halory, by Halo) added a group success when favoured 5YO mare Boundless (Van Nistelrooy-Nothing Less, by Star Way) made it 2 successive group victories this month when she scored by a neck in the NZ$125,000 Gr2 Counties Cup (2100m) at Pukekohe. Boundless (ridden by Leith Innes for trainer Stephen McKee) defeated 5YO geldings Fiorano (Kaapstad-Franchice, by Icelandic) & Solid Billing (Rock Of Gibraltar-Star Affair, by Star Way). Boundless (a NZ$80,000 yearling at the 2006 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) took her record to 7 wins (also including the Gr3 Nicolas Feuillatte Stakes over 2000m at Ellerslie on November 3, plus 2008's Gr1 NZ Oaks over 2400m at Trentham) & 3 placings (including 2008's Gr1 AJC Australian Oaks over 2400m at Randwick & 2007's Listed Soliloquy Stakes over 1400m at Ellerslie) from 25 starts for NZ$621,147 earnings.
