Monday, 23rd November 2009

Triple Gr1-winning Darley stallion & former Stoney Bridge shuttler Storming Home (Machiavellian-Try To Catch Me, by Shareef Dancer) added a juvenile black-type success when debutant colt Lion Tamer (Storming Home-Lioness, by Generous) came from last in running to snatch a thrilling victory in a 3-way photo-finish to the NZ$60,000 Listed Murdoch Newell Stakes (1100m) for 2YOs at Pukekohe. Lion Tamer (ridden by Mark Du Plessis for trainers Murray & Bjorn Baker) scored by a long-neck from the gelding Sirrio (Captain Rio-Lacy Tops, by Clay Hero) with a further neck to favoured fellow colt Everlasting (General Nediym-Tristachine, by Sir Tristram). Lion Tamer now has a win from his initial start for NZ$37,500 earnings.
