US Sprinter Sets World Record For 6 Furlongs

In the US, Kentucky-bred 6YO gelding Twin Sparks (Twining-Sparklin Lil, by Mr Sparkles) “eclipsed the world dirt record for 6 furlongs when he clocked 1min 6.49sec in winning the Caballos Del Sol Handicap at Turf Paradise” in Ariziona, reported bloodhorse.com. Twin Sparks (ridden by Luis Medina for trainer Karl Myers) led all-the-way to slaughter his rivals by 11.25-lengths. Twin Sparks (a US$6,000 yearling at the 2004 Keeneland September Sale) took his record to 8 wins from 22 starts.
