Bailey Visits UK & Canada On Anti-Drugs Tour

In Australia, Racing Victoria “has strengthened its commitment to stamp out drug cheats”, with chief steward Terry Bailey “familiarising himself with the latest drug information, strategies & testing techniques in Britain & Canada,” reported The Herald-Sun. Bailey’s fact-finding visit to Toronto “will take in the Ontario Racing Commission, regarded as the world leader in addressing the problem of EPO” & Bailey emphasised: “Obviously, combating EPO is a major factor in the trip. We are very keen to see how the laboratories work.” During his time in England, Bailey visited the UK Horseracing Forensic Laboratory Sports Science in Newmarket.
