Hayes Faces Shockwave Therapy Inquiry

Tuesday, 24th November 2009

Trainer David Hayes “will face an inquiry into the use of shockwave therapy” on his horse Poison Ivy, which led to Racing Victoria stewards ordering its scratching from a race at Moonee Valley last Friday evening, reported The Herald-Sun. Stewards ordered the withdrawal after confirming the filly had been given shockwave treatment on the Wednesday before the Friday night meeting. Under the rules of racing, shockwave treatment is prohibited within 7 days of a race or trial. A date has yet to be set for the inquiry.
