UK Tatts Yearlings: $304k Sadler's Wells Colt

Tuesday, 24th November 2009

Blandford Bloodstock's Tom Goff paid 160,000 guineas (A$304,000) for 1 of the final 3 yearlings by legendary Coolmore stallion Sadler’s Wells to go through a sales ring. The colt (out of Darshaan mare L’Ancresse, runner-up in the 2003 Gr1 Irish Oaks) was consigned by agent John Troy & Goff told racingpost.com: “He's for an owner who keeps horses with (Newmarket-based trainer) John Gosden & was as nice a middle-distance colt as I've seen here today. He was the best model out of the mare & he's out of a Darshaan mare, so it's a stallion's pedigree.”
