UK Tatts Yearlings: $399k High Chaparral Filly

Tuesday, 24th November 2009

Agent Dwayne Woods (acting for Stobart Transport chief executive Andrew Tinkler) out-bid BBA Ireland’s Adrian Nicoll (standing with Paul Shanahan) to pay 210,000 guineas (A$399,000) for a filly by NZ Windsor Park's Derby-winning Coolmore shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (out of Akarad mare Diamonaka) consigned from breeder Maurice Burns’s Rathasker Stud in Ireland. The filly's pedigree is littered with Group & Listed winners including Gr1 siblings Diamilina & Diamond Green. Tinkler told racingpost.com: “She was a really nice filly. It's a good page & she will be not just for racing but hopefully we can breed from her in the future. We picked out a few & Dwayne helped us narrow down the list & this filly was top of the tree. She's going to (trainer) Tom Dascombe, whose Cheshire yard we sponsor, and I also have a Kyllachy yearling colt there.”
