Scenic Blast Recovered From Foot injury In HK

Wednesday, 25th November 2009

Meanwhile trainer Danny Morton told Radio Sport 927 that last season's Australian Horse-Of-The-Year & current Global Sprint Challenge leader Scenic Blast (Scenic-Daughter's Charm, by Delgado) has recovered from the lameness in his right fore foot (which triggered his withdrawal from last Sunday’s Gr2 International Sprint Trial) & is back working in preparation for the Gr1 International Sprint (1200m) at Sha Tin on December 13. Morton confirmed: “He is good. I was sort of erring on the side of caution as I just did not want to go into the race not 100% & not come out 100% & then put me behind the 8-ball. I am very happy with him now & he is back to normal work yesterday (Monday) & today (Tuesday) I had the course proper here & let him stride along & he felt very nice to me. Had it had been the main race (last Sunday) I would have run; but I did not want to come out of that race behind the 8-ball & then have to play catch-up towards the next one. I was just giving myself about 5 days up my sleeve. Everything is back to normal now & I still have 2-and-a-half weeks to go to the grand final.”
