US Stakes-Winner Akarem Sold To Stand In Peru

In South America, UK stakes-winning 8YO stallion Akarem (Kingmambo-Spirit of Tara, by Sadler’s Wells) has been sold to begin southern hemisphere stud duty in 2010 at Peruvian soccer player Claudio Pizarro’s Haras El Catorce. Akarem was a €500,000 (A$800,000) yearling at Ireland’s 2002 Goffs Orby Sale & recorded 6 wins (including the UK Listed Buckhounds Stakes over 12 furlongs at Ascot & Listed Braveheart Stakes over 12 furlongs at Hamilton) & 15 placings (including Ireland’s Gr3 Curragh Cup over 14 furlongs & Listed Oyster Stakes over 12 furlong at Galway, plus the UK’s Listed March Stakes over 14 furlongs at Goodwood & Listed Buckhounds Stakes over 12 furlongs at Ascot) from 51 starts. His Gr2-placed dam Spirit Of Tara is a full-sister to champion Salsabil.
