UK Tatts Foals Day-2: $314k Teofilo Colt

Friday, 27th November 2009

In the UK overnight, Blandford Bloodstock's Richard Brown out-bid Anthony Stroud Bloodstock's Matt Coleman to pay top price of 165,000 guineas (A$314,000) for a colt from the 1st-crop of unbeaten European Champion juvenile & dual Gr1-winning Darley stallion Teofilo (out of Hector Protector mare Triton Dance) during the 2nd session at the 4-day Tattersalls December Foal Sale at Park Paddocks. The colt (consigned from Trickledown Stud) is half-brother to the Group-placed Count John & his dam Triton Dance is a half-sister to Gr2 winner Jewel In The Sand. Brown told racingpost.com: “He's for an existing client & he could be kept to race or for resale. We'll see how he develops in the spring. I'm a big fan of the sire; his stock look very good.”
