Monday, 30th November 2009

Former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a South African group success when unbeaten Australian-bred daughter Sidera (Galileo-Freja, by Danehill) scored a 0.75-length victory in the R275,000 (A$41,000) Gr3 Gommagomma Fillies Mile (1600m) for 3YO fillies at Turffontein. Sidera (ridden by Anthony Delpech for trainer Mike de Kock) defeated fellow Australian-bred Generous Anna (General Nediym-Ends Meet, by Anabaa) & Spiced Gold (Kahal-Little Legend, by Complete Warrior). Sidera (a $45,000 yearling bred by Dato Tan Chin Nam & consigned by Think Big Stud at the 2008 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) now has 3 wins from 3 starts. And Generous Anna was a $380,000 yearling consigned from Attunga Stud at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.
