UK Tatts Foals Day-3: $456k Oasis Dream Colt

Monday, 30th November 2009

Kennycourt Stud's Eugene McDermott paid 240,000 guineas (A$456,000) for a colt by Oasis Dream (out of stakes-placed Rainbow Quest mare Karliyna) consigned from St Simon Stud. The colt (whose dam Karliyna is a half-sister to Group winners Kasthari & Karasta) hails from one of the Aga Khan's best families & pin-hooker McDermott told racingpost.com: “He'll come back to Kennycourt & then be reoffered (at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale next year) & we hope to make a profit. We tend to trade at the high end of the market & I thought this colt was the pick of the day. I think everything about Oasis Dreams is the tops. We got 8 foals at Goffs & this was the 4th one we have got here. We hope to get 4 or 5 more by the end of the sale & I'm definitely optimistic about the yearling market next year.”
