UK Tatts Foals Day-3: $570k High Chaparral Filly

Monday, 30th November 2009

Bloodstock agent Hugo Lascelles (acting for owner-breeder Anthony Oppenheimer) paid 300,000 guineas (A$570,000) for a filly by NZ Windsor Park's dual Derby-winning Coolmore shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (out of Green Desert mare Diary) consigned from Shanaville Stables in Ireland. The filly is a full-sister to UK Gr1 Fillies' Mile runner-up Lady Darshaan & a half-sister to French Gr1 Prix de l'Abbaye winner Total Gallery & Lascelles told racingpost.com: “She was an absolute queen & I thought she was the best filly in the sale. There's a lot to look forward to with Lady Darshaan, so you've got a lot of chances with something like her. She's for Mr Oppenheimer to keep & race & is one for the long haul that will come to the stud eventually. We try & upgrade the stock when we can.”
