UK Tatts Breeding Stock Day-2: Aust Buys $722k Fermion

Wednesday, 2nd December 2009

Agent Michael Goodbody (acting for an Australian client) paid 380,000 guineas (A$722,000) for stakes-winning 6YO mare Fermion (Sadler’s Wells-Pieds De Plume, by Seattle Slew) consigned by John Troy as agent & sold in-foal to 6-time Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler & former European Horse-Of-The-Year Dylan Thomas. Goodbody told racingpost.com: “She’s been bought for a man coming into the business who wants to buy at the top end of the market & is looking to breed to race. Fermion is staying here (in the UK) & will be bred northern hemisphere time & I’m sure the Dylan Thomas will be kept to race.”
