Warrnambool "Set To Fight With Everything"

Wednesday, 2nd December 2009

Warrnambool Racing Club chairman Marg Lucas declared her colleagues at the club & the wider community of Warrnambool were set to “fight with everything” to reverse Racing Victoria's decision to ban jumps racing from the end of next season. She told The Herald-Sun: “We are absolutely determined to overturn this & we'll go down whatever path needs to be taken to achieve the result we want. We've got everybody ringing & contacting our club & committee asking what they can do. We're keeping everybody at bay at the moment, but people power will swing into action if that's what is needed. Our 1st step is to go through the right channels & appeal to RV to rescind its decision. We're in the process of doing that & we expect to do so with the support of all industry stakeholders. . . . . We'll obviously be speaking with politicians, trying to get a meeting with the Premier.”
