$1.8m Makybe Diva Sister 2nd-Last On Debut

Thursday, 3rd December 2009

Dual Australian Horse-Of-The-Year & triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva’s 3YO 3/4-sister Bakarje Diva (Redoute's Choice-Tugela, by Riverman) finished 2nd-last (8th in the field of 9 & beaten by 10.5-lengths) in her racetrack debut over 1400m at Eagle Farm in Brisbane yesterday for trainer John Morrisey. Morrisey's long-time client Gundaroo Stud Syndicate paid $1.8 million for the filly at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney. Makybe Diva didn't race until she was a 4YO (& won her 1st Melbourne Cup as a 5YO).
