UK Tatts Breeding Stock Day-3: $646k Piste Noire

Thursday, 3rd December 2009

Tom Goff from Blandford Bloodstock (standing with Ashtown House Stud's Paul Shanahan) paid top price of 340,000 guineas (A$646,000) in the UK overnight for unraced 3YO filly Piste Noire (Diesis-Skiable, by Niniski) during the 3rd session at the 4-day Tattersalls December Breeding Stock Sale at Park Paddocks in Newmarket. Piste Noire (consigned from Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms) is a full-sister to Gr1-placed Banstead Manor Stud stallion Three Valleys & from the family of legendary Hasili. Goff told racingpost.com: “It's an outstanding page & she's a full-sister to, in my opinion, one of the best 2YOs we've ever seen - his Coventry Stakes win was breathtaking. (Three Valleys set a 2YO track record in winning the 2003 Gr3 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.) She will be an enormous asset to any leading breeding establishment.”
