Anabaa Adds French Black-Type

Friday, 4th December 2009

In France overnight, former Widden Stud shuttler Anabaa (Danzig-Balbonella, by Gay Mecene) added a black-type success when Aga Khan-bred 3YO colt Dalghar (Anabaa-Daltawa, by Miswaki) scored a 1.5-lengths victory against older rivals in the €52,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix Luthier (1500m on all-weather) at Deauville. Dalghar (ridden by Jean-Bernard Eyquem for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre) defeated 4YO mare Rockette (Ange Gabriel-Racoon, by Be My Guest) & fellow 3YO colt Desertar (Zamindar-Desert Melody, by Green Desert). Last year as a juvenile, Dalghar also finished runner-up in the Gr2 Criterium De Maisons-Laffitte (1200m).
