Arqana Breeding Stock Day-2: Chaparral Mare To Aust Mudgway

Monday, 7th December 2009

Australian agent Gary Mudgway of Grange Thoroughbreds paid €38,000 (A$61,000) for a foal by NZ Windsor Park's dual Derby-winning Coolmore shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (out of Lycius mare Crimson Glory) consigned from Haras d'Ommeel. The filly is from the immediate family of multiple Gr1-winner Crimplene & Mudgway told racingpost.com: “We bought The Miniver Rose at the UK Tattersalls December sale last week & this one is a similar type. They are by a stallion that has done extremely well in Australia with 2 Gr1-winners from his 1st crop (So You Think in the Cox Plate & Monaco Consul in the Victoria Derby). The filly will stay in France & probably be sold at the August sale next year.”
