Dino Mak Wins Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic

Gr1-winning Coolmore stallion Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a group success (& 7th individual stakes-winner) when 3YO gelding Dino Mak (Fastnet Rock-Hooker, by Volksraad) scored by a head in the $125,000 Gr3 Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic (1400m) for 3YOs at Ascot. Dino Mak (ridden by Patrick Carbery for trainer Wally Mitchell) defeated the filly Impressive Jeuney (Jeune-Rego's Girl, by Rory's Jester) & favoured fellow gelding The Corporation (Helenus-Corn Fields, by Bletchley Park). Dino Mak (a $280,000 yearling consigned from Gervase Park Stud at the 2008 Magic Millions Perth Sale) now has 2 wins & 5 placings (including October’s Listed Fairetha Stakes over 1400m at Ascot & February’s Magic Millions Perth Classic over 1100m at Ascot) from 10 starts for $146,650 earnings.
