Monday, 7th December 2009

Dual-Derby winning Coolmore sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a group success when 6YO gelding Gondorff (Montjeu-My Funny Face, by Marscay) scored a half-length victory in the $100,000 Gr3 Queen’s Cup (2400m) at Ascot. Gondorff (ridden by Daniel Staeck for trainer Mark Reed) defeated favoured 5YO mare Ma Chienne (Verglas-Just Act, by Serheed) & 7YO gelding Esroh (Perugino-Richelle, by Century). Gondorff (a NZ$200,000 yearling at the 2005 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 6 wins (also including September’s Listed Kalgoorlie Gold Cup over 2300m) & 17 placings (including September’s Listed Boulder Cup over 1760m at Kalgoorlie on September 13) from 32 starts for $335,295 earnings.
